Muuttuneet suunnitelmat

Koronavirus on pistänyt koko maailman sekaisin. Lentoja on peruttu, osa hotelleista on sulkenut ovensa, Espanja on asettanut ulkonaliikkumiskiellon. Koronaviruksen vaikutukset ulottuvat myös meihin. Meidän oli tarkoitus lähteä Espanjan Maspalomasiin juhlimaan äitini syntymäpäiviä. Luonnollisesti matka on nyt peruttu, eikä jatkosta ole tietoa. Alun perin olemme suunnitelleet korvaavaa reissua syyskuulle, mutta katsotaan nyt rauhassa, miten tilanne etenee.

Kaikista eniten harmittaa lasten puolesta, sillä varsinkin isompi oli ehtinyt jo odottaa innolla uimista niin altaalla kuin meressäkin. Sen vuoksi olemme pohtineet nyt sitä vaihtoehtoa, että teemme nelistään reissun Karibialle, kunhan tilanne rauhoittuu. Dominikaaninen tasavalta, Aruba ja Curacao ovat nousseet kohteina ylitse muiden. Seuraavaan reissuun voi kuitenkin mennä aikaa, sillä valtiot sulkevat rajojaan, eikä normaaliin paluusta ole tietoa.

Viruksen eteneminen on muuttanut suunnitelmia myös työrintamalla. Kaikista eniten meidän perheessä tilanne on vaikuttanut mieheni töihin. Hän on joutunut perumaan niin Hollannin, Belgian, Saksan kuin Ranskan kiertueet yhdessä yhtyeensä Skiltronin kanssa. Toki nämä päivät tullaan korvaamaan ja kiertuepäivien joukossa olleille festivaaleille on jo päätetty uusia päivämääriä, mutta silti tilanne harmittaa kovasti. Omalla kohdallani virus ei ole sinällään estänyt mitään projekteja, sillä en tee tällä hetkellä töitä kokoaikaisesti ja ne projektit, joita hoidan, pystyn tekemään tietokoneella kotoa käsin. Koen surulliseksi sen, että niin moni yrittäjä on vaikeuksissa, kun ostovoimaa ei enää ole. Jos itse tekisin tällä hetkellä kokopäivätöitä, olisi tilanne itsellänikin sellainen, että joitakin töitä aivan varmasti peruttaisiin.

Vielä tammikuussa lomailtiin näin mukavasti.

The coronavirus has injected the whole world. Flights have been canceled, some hotels have closed their doors, Spain is shut down completely. The effects of coronavirus also extend to us. We were supposed to go to Maspalomas, Spain, to celebrate my mother's birthday. Naturally the journey has now been cancelled and we don't know about the future. Originally we planned a replacement trip for September, but now let's look how things are going.


The most annoying thing for the kids is that the bigger one had already been looking forward to swimming both in the pool and in the ocean. That is why we are now considering the option of making a trip to the Caribbean for four of us, once the situation calms down. The Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curacao have risen above the rest. However, it may take time for the next trip, as states close their borders and there is no information on returning to normal.


This virus is also effecting economical situation. Most of all in our family the situation has affected my husband's work. He had to cancel tours in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France with his band Skiltron. Sure, these days will be replaced and new dates have already been decided for the festivals, which are among the tour days, but the situation is very disappointing. For me, the virus itself hasn't blocked any projects, because I'm not working full time at the moment, and the projects I handle can be done from home. I find it sad that so many entrepreneurs are in trouble these days. If I was working full time at the moment, the situation would be such that some jobs would definitely be cancelled also for me. But let's hope for the best.
